Electronic signatures are a category of methods that can be used for signing a document, as they are fast to set up and simple to create. Docusign offers products and services for automating the process of managing agreements, including electronic signatures, document generation, contract lifecycle management and more.

One company looking to upgrade its operations and digitize its documentation is Specsavers, a multinational optical retail chain that operates across 2,293 stores around the globe. Applying Docusign eSignature and Docusign PowerForms into its core business has enabled the optical retail chain to simplify its document agreement processes, thus minimizing administrative tasks and dedicating more time to clients.

Before turning to Docusign eSignature, Specsavers relied on old-fashioned ways of working, for example, documents for signing would need to be printed and sent via post for review, as contracts could take more than eight days to be processed.

Jamie Holden, contract manager at Specsavers, explores the need to modernize internal processes: “With stores across multiple countries and a need to improve governance, we were looking to automate processes in order to save time on administration and do what we do best – help people.”

Docusign eSignature has enabled the optical retail chain to create agreements for review and approval far more efficiently, allowing Specsavers employees to focus on their daily job of preventing sight and hearing loss wherever possible. Used across several departments within the business, including HR, legal, procurement and accounting, eSignature has also been integrated with different applications using the Docusign API which has brought additional benefits for the company.

“We use PowerForms a great deal,” continued Holden. “We use that from within the platform, going out from a contract management solution where we use the Docusign API, and we use it from within our contract manageable system.”

With eSignature, Specsavers has automated the workflow processes of agreement signing across the business. What was once a time-consuming and tedious process, has now been made more efficient and has enhanced time management with automation.
