Security is at the forefront of every SAP user’s priority list. With Microsoft, SAP users can discover how pairing cloud and ERP together can help users gain stronger security posture, intelligent insights and optimize cost to power the future of businesses.
In a recent webinar, Bill Martorelli, principle analyst at Forrester presents findings on current challenges IT leaders are facing with regards to cloud and ERP including increasingly advanced cyberthreats and providing enhanced customer and employee experiences from the Microsoft commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting.
Users can also learn from Sachin Rathi, director of partner management for security solutions at Microsoft on how to implement tools, technologies and deploy solutions that will prepare users and their organizations to step into this new future, securely.
The key findings of this study showed that respondents face technological and economic roadblocks. The top digital transformation and innovation goals are AI, cloud and security, being the top three. As Martorelli explains in the webinar, a cloud–based ERP can help users address the main challenges organizations are facing, not only this but cloud–based ERP can enable organizations to meet their digital transformation and innovation goals.
Respondents are focusing on stronger security practices for two main reasons: secure the business and enable their cloud and AI goals. Safeguarding against potential cyber threats is crucial in protecting both the integrity of the cloud infrastructure and the privacy of the datasets central to AI applications. 61 percent of respondents indicated they are investing in data security to help meet their digital transformation and innovation goals.
Rathi explains an effective approach to SAP threat monitoring has several key requirements which include: multi–layered coverage, rich insights into SAP applicative and transactional data, correlation across enterprise data sources, flexible deployment, threat detections specific to SAP and customizability.
The Microsoft Sentinel Solution for NetWeaver and S/4HANA data connector is used for data ingestion in Sentinel from SAP on any cloud or on–premises including SAP BTP. The solution continuously monitors SAP systems for threats across all business layers, application, database and OS. The solution can detect threats like privilege escalation, correlate SAP monitoring with other signals across a users’ organization which allows users to build their own detections to monitor sensitive transactions and other business risks
