This is a monthly column where SAP Financials product manager, Gary Fullmer, shares tips and tricks from SAP experts, including SAP product managers and SAP consultants, on ways current FI/CO capabilities can be more fully utilized and expanded. For this first column, a senior FI/CO configurator and former SAP FI/CO platinum consultant discusses some useful FI/CO-relevant programs, which are not accessible through menu paths.
Welcome to the first issue of the FI/CO Expert newsletter and to this column, where I’ll share tips and tricks from SAP experts, including SAP product managers and SAP consultants. The tips on the next page are hard-earned lessons from the trenches — i.e., lessons garnered from working closely with our customers on the front lines (as opposed to back in the labs). They provide invaluable inside information on ways to utilize and expand the current capabilities of your FI/CO. In this first column, the tips and tricks are from Tom Spetnagel, a former SAP FI/CO platinum consultant with five years of CO consulting experience. Tom is currently on assignment as a senior FI/CO configurator. You can reach him at thomas_spetnagel@coxtarget.com.
Tips on Using Some FI/CO-Relevant Programs
If you’ve spent as much time wading through the huge offering of SAP OSS notes as I have, you’ve probably noticed a plethora of useful standard-delivered programs that are not accessible through menu paths. Here are a few FI/CO-relevant programs I have “discovered,” which you might find fun or useful. They normally have to be run with SE38 or SA38. I hope you find these tips helpful.
If you know of additional SECRET / FUN / FANCY / COOL PROGRAMS that I have not listed here, please forward them on to me. Happy SAP-ing!
General Programs
- RKACSHOW [OSS note 28145] – shows the table entries in all the CO tables for any cost object
- RGRWSUBMIT [OSS note 175709] – executes ReportPainter report groups in the background and attaches variants to report trees
- SAPKKA12 [OSS note 350290] – sets sales order items to status ‘Closed’ to speed up month-
end results analysis and settlement in a make-to-order environment
- SDVBUK00 [OSS note 88511] – “updates/corrects the status, document flow, and ncompletion log” for the items on any sales order
- SDSTATU1 [OSS note 52546] – lists sales order items with incorrect or missing status objects (SDSTATU2 fixes the items)
