In the ever-evolving landscape of ERP, seamless data access is critical for organizations relying on SAP systems. Here, Artificial intelligence (AI) is emerging as a game-changer, enabling faster, smarter, more accurate and automatic updating for data integration.
AI-driven tools such as Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) solution Precog offer quick time-to-insight, with the platform able to start generating insights within minutes of data integration. This speed is especially evident when connecting to popular SAP applications such as SAP Ariba, SAP Business One, SAP Cloud for Customer, or SAP Commerce Cloud. The integration process is swift, and the power of tools like SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere allows users to start analyzing data almost immediately after it’s ingested.

In a recent webinar, Jeff Carr, CEO of Precog, shared a comprehensive overview of how the platform integrates with SAP and other data environments, and how AI helps it stand out in the competitive landscape of data integration and AI-powered analytics.
Regarding Precog’s history with SAP, Carr revealed that the company has been working with SAP for a number of years. “Our first integration was Ariba,” he explained, noting that integrating with challenging APIs like SAP Ariba’s helped solidify the partnership. Since then, Precog has expanded its relationship with SAP and is now considered one of their preferred suppliers in the data integration space.
Precog’s platform can be accessed via a browser, offering a user-friendly interface for both SAP and non-SAP systems. Also of note is that Precog offers a free trial, giving potential customers the opportunity to test the platform before committing to a purchase.
On the security front, Precog takes data protection seriously. The platform holds certifications such as SOC 2 Type 2, GDPR, HIPAA, and CPAa, ensuring it meets the highest standards for cloud security. As Carr explained, “Precog is SOC 2, Type 2 certified – we maintain all the primary security certifications for cloud platforms.” Carr also added Precog solutions are certified within the SAP environment.
Once data is ingested into SAP Datasphere, SAP’s security protocols take over, offering end-to-end protection. This dual-layered approach ensures that sensitive data remains secure throughout the entire process.
Precog and Flexible Integration with SAP and Non-SAP Systems
Precog is built to support a broad array of applications, and Carr emphasized its capability to handle both SAP and non-SAP systems.
“We support a much broader suite of applications,” Carr said, noting that while many competitors may support 200-300 cloud applications, Precog supports over 2,000, including both SAP and non-SAP solutions.
The platform’s adaptability to both structured and unstructured data is also of interest to SAP Insiders. Carr shared that Precog can automatically handle data of unknown structure.
“We don’t make any assumptions about the structure of the data,” he said, explaining that the platform uses AI to detect and process both structured and unstructured data, creating clean relational models. This makes the data more suitable for downstream analytics and AI applications.
Finally, Precog can also help move SAP data into other data warehouses such as SAP Hana, Snowflake, SQL Server, Google Big Query and more. “We do have customers that load data into popular data warehouses, and we support pretty much all of them,” he said, highlighting the flexibility of the platform beyond SAP environments.
