SAP has once again redefined innovation in global businesses by integrating Business AI across its enterprise cloud portfolio. Recent announcements by SAP reveal SAP’s renewed commitment to providing the transforming power of AI, enabling organizations to achieve tangible results and unlock the agility and innovation required to thrive in the rapidly changing business environment.

SAP is integrating Business AI throughout its enterprise solutions, providing SAP customers with actionable insights that enhance decision-making and foster human-centric creative problem-solving. SAP’s generative AI copilot, Joule, is being integrated more broadly across SAP's offerings. Initially launched in SAP SuccessFactors solutions last fall, Joule is now part of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Build, and SAP Integration Suite, with plans to extend to SAP Ariba and SAP Analytics Cloud and in other supply chain management solutions from SAP by 2024 end.

SAP is also bringing new consulting capabilities to Joule, in partnership with NVIDIA, directed at simplifying SAP implementations for partners. The new consulting capability will leverage insights from SAP product documentation and the SAP community to provide consultants with vital information through natural language interactions. ERP and Finance: Customers can use Joule to streamline financial tasks in different SAP systems. For example, billing specialists can enhance collection processes and make more accurate risk assessments by using Joule with SAP Advanced Financial Closing to analyze incoming customer communications. Joule can also summarize and assess project profitability, suggesting which projects need more attention and recommending improvements. Additionally, SAP Fiori applications now use Joule to quickly summarize data and create visual representations of that data.

Human Resources: Joule allows employees to quickly find answers to questions about HR policies in SAP SuccessFactors using natural language, improving their experience and saving time. It offers a conversational interface for employees to easily ask questions and manage their HR tasks. The effectiveness of Joule is enhanced by its new document grounding feature, which draws information from SAP documents and external sources like Microsoft SharePoint. This helps Joule provide thorough and accurate answers based on a mix of structured and unstructured business data.

IT and Platform: Business analysts, IT professionals, and process owners can use Joule's generative AI to quickly automate business processes on a large scale. New features aiding enterprise automation include:

• Integration of Joule copilot with SAP Build Process Automation, enabling the creation of automations and workflows through natural language requests, in addition to the standard no-code visual editor.
• Integration of Joule copilot with SAP Signavio, facilitating the generation of process models through natural language requests, alongside the manual process editor.
• Users of SAP Integration Suite can now create integration flows and connect applications using simple natural language instructions through Joule.
• Compliance and IT professionals can utilize Joule with the regulatory change manager tool on SAP BTP, which assesses numerous regulatory updates, analyzes their impact on SAP products, and helps maintain compliance without disrupting daily operations.

SAP is introducing features in Joule for ABAP developers, allowing them to write ABAP code using generative AI. Upcoming features include ABAP business objects creation and capabilities to support efficient coding and testing.

Sourcing and Procurement: Sourcing managers can quickly generate requests for proposals in SAP Ariba Sourcing with Joule's intelligent product and supplier recommendations, which consider cost, environmental impact, compliance, and transaction history.

Supply Chain: Supply chain planners can use Joule for in-depth analysis of planning activities in SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain, identifying and addressing delays. Logistics providers can expedite goods receipt and transportation planning in SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain for transportation management with Joule's assistance.
