SAP has released a Sneak Peek for SAP IBP What’s New 2311. In this blog, we get to check the top 5 features that we are looking forward to knowing more about

1. Model Configuration: New Key Figure Calculation: Consumption

Users can now use the new IBP_CONSUMPTION function for multiple business scenarios. The most often used case will be forecast consumption, where the forecast is reduced by the actual sales orders. Even though forecast consumption was available in TS Supply Planning and OB Supply Planning, with the new IBP_CONSUMPTION function, the calculation is done automatically when a new sales order is integrated via SAP IBP RTI.

2. Add-in for Microsoft Excel: Keyboard Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts for Save Data, Simulate (Basic), Refresh, and Reset Changes will be available with SAP IBP Excel Add-in 2311.

The keyboard shortcuts are the following:

  • Save Data: Ctrl + Alt + S
  • Simulate (Basic): Ctrl + Alt + B
  • Refresh: Ctrl + Alt + R
  • Reset Changes: Ctrl + Alt + Z

3. TS Supply Planning: Fixed Capacity Consumption for Production Sources (Optimizer)

The optimizer algorithm has been enhanced to consider fixed capacity consumption in production. This means that whether you produce 1 unit or 100 units of the output product the capacity consumption will be fixed. The available capacity will be reduced by the fixed value in the period in which the first variable capacity consumption occurs. Fixed capacity consumption is considered to be a constraint during optimization, not preprocessing.

4. TS Supply Planning: Production Group Planning (Optimizer)

Users can now optimize planning results using the newly introduced production groups. Production groups include products that share attributes, such as color or shape, which cause fixed capacity consumption or fixed costs.

5. Enhancements for Analytics Stories

Users can now create analytics stories for order-based planning areas with flexible master data and display external key figures in their charts and tables.
