As an independent software house, logi.cals, based in St. Pölten in the heart of Lower Austria state-of-the-art software for automation technology, process industry and functional system documentation. Customers benefit from the company’s more than 25 years of experience. With prefabricated but open software products and associated software modules, the company combines both software and hardware components from different manufacturers into an end-to-end solution that can be easily integrated into the existing infrastructure of the customers. logi.cals employs more than thirty people at its two locations in Austria and Germany.
Core products at logi.cals include the hardware-independent IEC 61131-3 automation platform logi. CAD and the universal function plan tool logi.DOC. Both products are supplemented by efficient additional products, such as logi.RTS (PLC runtime system), logi.CED (tool for causes/effect diagrams) and much more. The new star in the portfolio is logi.CAD 3 compact. The focus is on efficient and effective programming of IEC 61131-3 compliant controllers in direct connection with the other departments required for an industrial automation solution. As a major innovation, users will be specifically supported in future in reusing partial solutions and know-how developed in projects in subsequent projects and thus drastically reducing development times.

In order to be able to meet the needs of our users in the best possible way in the future, logi.cals conducts intensive research – including the Vienna University of Technology. There, logi.cals has been operating the Christian Doppler Laboratory CDL-Flex since 2010, which deals with the optimization of development environments for modern automation systems. Based on industrial tasks, research is carried out on approaches for the improved technical integration of software tools and for the semantic integration of data models.
