Hydro Tasmania wanted to reap the benefits of converting from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The organisation set out to simplify and systemise existing processes, improve the user experience for staff, and introduce more contemporary technology to continue building future capability and lay the foundation for a broader innovation program. This session will share insights from Hydro Tasmania’s 12-month journey to convert to SAP S/4HANA and becoming one of the first SAP customers to roll-out Fiori 3 to its users.
While the project team started fully in the office, the global COVID-19 pandemic meant the team had to rapidly pivot and operate in a 100% remote capacity, achieving a go-live at financial year end with minimal disruption to business and financial operations. Hydro Tasmania has since begun the broader innovation program to roll out 20 new Fiori tiles and deployment of other SAP S/4HANA functions/modules. The project has delivered greater process visibility and Fiori 3 provides a more rapid, streamlined, and intuitive user experience. With the Fiori dashboard and new tiles delivered in the innovation phase, employees can easily access new analytical pages and drill down into different data dimensions. The business has achieved a direct cost saving thanks to HANA sidecar and other resource savings opportunities.
