Follow these three steps the next time you get an error message stating that a function module can't be found.
Dear BW Expert,
When I try to activate my transfer rules, I get the following error message: RSAOU_BWBC_GET function module not found
. How do I proceed?
Rupali Da
Hi Rupali,
The function module RSAOU_BWBC_GET is in function group SUGU. This group contains function modules that are linked to interfaces for software components. RSAOU_BWBC_GET includes another function module, DELIVERY_GET_COMPONENT_RELEASE, which delivers the release and patch-level of the software component. When you activate the transfer rules, the system looks for this function module to start.
Follow these steps when your BW system tells you that it can't find a function module:
- Confirm that the function module is indeed missing from your BW system. Go to transaction code SE37 and search for the function module indicated in the error message.
- Search the SAP OSS notes for anything related to your function module and BW.
- If the function module is not in your BW system, ask your Basis team to implement it. If it is in the system, it is difficult to say what the problem is — e.g., it could be incorrectly installed. You might have to write an OSS message to SAP.
