Optimize SCM Business Processes by Implementing Digital Signatures. Digital signature functionality is designed to reduce the number of printed documents that need to be signed, and to facilitate the completion of signed documents when the parties involved are unable to physically exchange documents. Digital signatures can do everything from confirm decisions within the quality management module of an SAP ERP system, validate shift reports in the plant maintenance module, or confirm process parameters. This article discusses how an organization can configure and implement digital signatures within their SAP systems.

Inside a Multi-Phased SAP Digitization Journey. Varian Medical Systems recently underwent a significant digitization journey. One of the key components of this was converting from handwritten to digital signatures within their engineering change management solution. Varian used a SAP PLM component called SAP Engineering Change Management in order to revamp and automate the engineering change process. This was critical because, as a medical company, they needed to make sure that, for any kind of engineering change, the necessary approvals and signatures are in place. This reflects the importance of digital signature solutions to streamlining day to day processes.

Demystify Digital Signature Configuration for Faster Approvals. Digital signatures allow people to send documents electronically, reducing the time and saving money in many instances. But to ensure that digital signatures on documents are authentic and secure, it’s important to ensure that everything is configured correctly in SAP Solution Manager. This article walks through the configuration process and explains how organizations can set up electronic signing in less than 10 steps.

SAP Security Patch Day June 2023: Cross-Site Scripting Takes Center StageJun 30, 2023  —  In June, SAP released thirteen new and updated patches, with four of them categorized as High Priority Notes. The main focus of these patches was on addressing Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in various components. Eight notes specifically targeted XSS vulnerabilities, while two High Priority Notes (#3326210 and #3324285) focused on the SAPUI5 component. Additionally, Onapsis Research Labs assisted in mitigating a vulnerability in the Transport Management System. One of the new High Priority Notes (#3324285) addressed a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (Stored XSS) vulnerability in UI5 Variant Management. This vulnerability had a CVSS score of 8.2 and could potentially compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the application. The second new High Priority Note (#3301942) addressed the connection between SAP Plant Connectivity and Production Connector for SAP Digital Manufacturing, with a CVSS score of 7.9. Without a valid JSON Web Token (JWT), the integrity and integration of these components could be compromised. Two previously released High Priority Notes also received updates. SAP Security Note #3326210 addressed an Improper Neutralization vulnerability in the sap.m.FormattedText SAPUI5 control, which could be exploited for phishing attacks. The update included minor changes and added support for SAP NetWeaver 7.58. SAP Security Note #3102769, on the other hand, addressed a critical Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability in SAP Knowledge Warehouse. The note provided a workaround that involved deactivating the vulnerable component. In addition to the High Priority Notes, several Medium Priority SAP Security Notes were released, with six of them addressing Cross-Site Scripting vulnerabilities. Updates were also provided for previously released notes, such as SAP Security Notes #3319400 and #3315971. Users were advised to consider the completeness of the fix for Note #3315971 in SAP CRM and implement SAP Security Note #3322800. Other Cross-Site Scripting vulnerabilities were addressed in SAP CRM Grantor Management, SAP Enterprise Portal, and Design Time Repository.
