SAPinsider Benchmark Research – RISE with SAP 2025As 2025 ends, the narrative around SAP migration has shifted from “why move?” to “how fast?”
This SAPinsider report, based on a survey of 122 community members conducted in late 2025, highlights a marked acceleration in cloud ERP adoption as the 2027 end-of-maintenance deadline approaches.
Now commercially referred to as SAP Cloud ERP Private, the RISE with SAP package is seeing varied adoption rates; smaller organizations (under $2 billion in revenue) are currently twice as likely to be live on the solution compared to larger enterprises, which are predominantly in the planning or exploration phases.
While SAP’s dedicated transition support and license conversion credits are the primary drivers for migration, cost and unclear business value remain significant barriers for holdouts. The report also identifies a growing influence of Generative AI on ERP strategy. However, it warns of critical gaps in security compliance and an impending shortage of skilled implementation resources.
Download the benchmark report to read the full data analysis and receive recommendations for your own plans.
- Understand why there is a concerning lack of security awareness
- Why we forecast that implementation partners will struggle to staff the volume of concurrent projects required to meet the 2027 and 2030 deadlines.

Reconsidering RISE with SAPSince RISE with SAP was originally released in 2021 much has changed. What was then seen as an essentially unknown business-transformation-as-a-service offering that was based around SAP S/4HANA Cloud is now the center of SAP’s plans for cloud ERP. RISE with SAP is also at the center of SAP’s newly announced Joule embedded AI and sustainability features.
Given that so much has changed, and with many potentially reconsidering plans for RISE with SAP, this is the perfect opportunity to reconsider and reevaluate RISE with SAP. What are the benefits of moving to the offering? What value does it bring? How can organizations ensure that they are making the right choice when it comes to RISE with SAP?

How Microsoft Helps Meet Growing Data RequirementsData is the lifeblood of modern business. Organizations are collecting vast amounts of information in order to intelligently run operations and gain an advantage within their field. In this digital economy, companies have a growing need to scale up their data capacity so that they do not fall behind.
SAP users in particular often require high levels of memory and CPU to run their most critical business operations—and as technological capabilities expand, the need for more computing power is only growing.
In this article, you can learn how to accommodate these needs without having to commit to major hardware upgrade projects and not worry whether you are sacrificing long-term goals to meet short-term needs.
TM International Logistics Gains Real-Time Visibility from the Warehouse to the Doorstep with IBM, SAP and MicrosoftTM International Logistics Limited (TMILL) worked with IBM Services to deploy SAP S/4HANA on Microsoft Azure to boost efficiency and offer global delivery tracking to consumers and businesses worldwide. They chose Azure as the optimal platform for their real-time analytics environment.
Transforming Businesses with RISE with SAP on Microsoft AzureThis article introduces RISE with SAP as comprehensive “business transformation as a service” offering from SAP and its strategic partners. It explains the benefits of RISE with SAP as well as its main components and the main phases of a RISE with SAP engagements. Finally, it outlines benefits of a RISE with SAP on Microsoft Azure.
It breaks down how RISE with SAP engagement can be structured into four larger phases: Analyzing and improving business processes, technical migration, building the intelligent enterprise, and acceleration of adoption and continuously improving the business. These four facets provide a roadmap through a business transformation and how users can best utilize the related services and solutions going forward.
SAPinsider Buyers Guide: SAP S/4HANAThe transition to SAP S/4HANA remains a focal point for SAP ERP users. Since its debut, around 24,000 organizations have licensed SAP S/4HANA, with a slightly smaller number having deployed the solution. While SAP S/4HANA remains important, SAP’s strategic thrust over the past two years has been towards cloud ERP, underscoring the pivotal role of SAP S/4HANA Cloud. Supporting this strategy, SAP’s primary push has been for its subscription-based RISE with SAP offering, which includes both SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, and SAP S/4AHNA Cloud, private edition. Yet, converting long-standing SAP users to this new cloud model, especially those with highly customized SAP ECC or SAP Business Suite deployments, remains a hurdle for SAP.
Despite the new innovations and faster performance offered by SAP S/4HANA and the cloud’s growing relevance, its uptake has been steady rather than rapid. Many in the SAP community are still on the fence regarding this shift. While some organizations have started their SAP S/4HANA journeys, a significant number of organizations have delayed deciding how they will move forward. However, the percentage without any plans to switch does continue to diminish.
To help SAP users make some of these critical decisions, SAPinsider put together this Buyers Guide, which aims to explore the challenges, opportunities, and trends in the SAP S/4HANA adoption space and to highlight key vendors and partners. The vendor capability assessments are intended to aid and assist organizations in selecting the vendors offering technology and consulting services for S/4HANA preparation, implementation, infrastructure, and post-deployment support.
