Meet the Expert

Bob has over 13 years of experience with SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) and over 25 years of experience with SAP. Bob got exposed to SAP when he was involved with the initial design team for SAP's Apparel Footwear Solution (AFS). He worked on the team that helped to design the solution to manage Sales and Distribution. During this time, Bob became highly proficient in the SD module of SAP as well as with the Apparel Footwear Solution. In 2008, Bob was tasked with being over an SAP Global Trade Services implementation for an electronic devices manufacture. While with this company he was on the SAP GTS Executive Influence Council. In 2013, Bob became the ASUG GTS Program Chair where he helped to plan various training sessions for the ASUG GTS community. Bob has managed and worked on numerous implementations of SAP GTS. He is an expert in all three of the GTS modules, Compliance, Customs, and Risk Management. He has worked with Consumer Product Companies, Aerospace and Defense Companies, Life Science Companies, Chemical Companies, and Food and Beverage Companies. Bob has continued to volunteer with ASUG and is the ASUG GTS Community Lead. In 2021, he was selected as ASUG Volunteer of the Year and in 2022 he was elected to the ASUG Hall of Fame. Bob graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1983. He has an MBA from Wake Forest University and a BS in Information Technology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Bob spent 11 years on active duty with the US Army and 16 years in the Army Reserve. He retired from the Army Reserve after 27 years of service.
