Today, mid-market firms are able to deploy online storefronts and digital warehouses, store and process data, and even use cloud-based data warehouses to power business decision making, without massive capital investments in data infrastructure. SAPInsider published a research report on Data Management Strategies and SAP HANA in April 2022 that explored how SAP clients were developing data strategies and managing data in today's diverse and complex data landscape. This brief analyzes the drivers of data management within mid-market firms as well as their direction with moving data to the cloud and use various tools to enable management of their data. 39% of the 141 respondents in that survey were from mid-market companies ($10 million to $1 billion in revenue). Of these, 58% are from North America, 24% from Asia-Pacific and 14% from EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa). Over 60% of the respondents are Information Technology professionals. The brief discovers that, with the cloud leveling the playing field for data management, mid-market companies are forging ahead with moving SAP data to the cloud and utilizing cloud tools to manage it.
