Key Takeaways
⇨ AWS Graviton is a series of processors designed to deliver the best price performance for cloud workloads running in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud.
⇨ SAP has experienced up to 30% better compute performance for analytical workloads by moving SAP HANA Cloud to AWS Graviton.
⇨ SAP and AWS are now collaborating on Graviton4, the next generation AWS chips for SAP HANA Cloud to further enhance performance and efficiency.
Companies are increasingly building intelligent solutions that process large volumes of data in real-time to provide advanced analytical capabilities and insights. This leads to increased compute and memory demands on the cloud. These additional resources call for a cloud solution that minimizes cost while providing enhanced performance and energy efficiency.
SAP customers actively use AWS across SAP’s cloud enterprise portfolio and RISE with SAP and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) are two of the most used solutions. SAP HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton went live in November 2023. AWS Graviton is a series of processors designed to deliver the best price performance for cloud workloads running in Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2), and companies can choose the AWS Graviton-based instance that best meets their needs.
This extended collaboration between SAP and AWS will be beneficial to any customers who use SAP HANA systems and rely on AWS as their infrastructure provider. By running SAP HANA Cloud on AWS Graviton, these customers can optimize their compute costs.
