The SAPinsider experience started even before the floor opened.

The pre-conferences set the tone – focused, practical, and honest, especially around clean core, BTP, and governance. It was clear early on that teams are moving past theory and into execution challenges.

That carried straight into Day 1 at Booth 1000.

The Crave team has been fully in the flow, welcoming visitors, exchanging ideas, and getting into conversations that quickly move beyond introductions.

Most conversations didn’t take long to get specific. Clean core came up quickly, not as a strategy, but as a decision problem. What stays, what moves, and what’s no longer worth carrying forward.

Security and governance followed in almost every discussion. As SAP landscapes expand, access is growing across systems, but control isn’t always keeping up. Visibility remains a gap many teams are actively trying to close.

One conversation summed it up well:

“We don’t have a provisioning problem. We have a visibility problem.”

BTP is clearly part of the roadmap, but the approach is more measured now. Teams are looking to align it with clean core strategies and ensure the foundation is right before scaling further.

Data came up more often than expected. Data cleansing, in particular, is still slowing down S/4HANA journeys. It’s not just a step in the process—it’s a dependency that’s hard to move past.

AI is entering the conversation too, but without the noise. The focus is on where it can actually reduce effort or improve decision-making—not where it simply sounds good.

Another comment that stayed with us:

“Access has grown over time. Now it’s hard to understand who has what—and why.”

That really captures where many teams are today.

What stood out across Day 1 was a clear shift in mindset.

Less focus on adding new tools.
More focus on understanding what already exists.

Less about ambition.
More about clarity and control.

If this is how the week has started, the conversations ahead are going to matter.
