Phocas Software announced on June 18, 2026, that it earned a perfect score for quality planning results in BARC The Planning Survey 26. The company posted 4 top ranks and 16 leading positions, with 100% of surveyed users reporting both a better quality of planning results and product satisfaction.
BARC Senior Analyst Dr. Christian Fuchs called the outcome a powerful endorsement of Phocas and its FP&A product. The result strengthens the case for Phocas as a planning layer for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers, including those running SAP.
Top Ranks Across Three Peer Groups
BARC evaluated Phocas across three peer groups: products for planning, budgeting, and forecasting, integrated products for planning, BI, and analytics, and midsize or departmental implementations.
Phocas earned top-ranked positions for Ease of Use across all three peer groups, along with leading rankings for Planning Content in the same groups. Other high-performing KPIs where Phocas achieved top rank or leader positions include Predefined Connectors, Reporting and Analysis, and Recommendation.
User Satisfaction and Planning Adoption
The survey found that 100% of surveyed Phocas users reported better planning quality and product satisfaction. BARC also found that 96% of the companies responding use Phocas FP&A for budgeting, with an average of 51% of Phocas users actively involved in planning.
Phocas co-founder and CEO Myles Glashier said it is reassuring that mid-market customers investing in cross-functional planning are seeing results. He added that as planning becomes a company-wide priority, Phocas is making operational and financial budgeting and forecasting more integrated.
Native SAP Integration for Mid-Market Teams
Phocas positions its platform as purpose-built BI and FP&A for the middle market, pulling operational data from existing systems into a single environment for analysis and planning.
The platform integrates natively with SAP, covering SAP Business One, SAP ByDesign, SAP Business One for HANA, and SAP ECC 6.
Glashier said the manufacturers, distributors, and retailers Phocas works with rely on people across different teams to contribute to planning. Founded in 2001, Phocas now supports more than 2,900 customers and 48,000 users globally.
What This Means for SAPinsiders
- Independent benchmarks shape mid-market analytics selection. BARC’s Planning Survey 26 gives finance teams user-rated data to compare planning tools objectively.
- Cross-functional planning becomes a company-wide priority. Sales, finance, and purchasing increasingly contribute to a shared planning process. Mid-market teams are adopting platforms that unify operational and financial forecasting.
- ERP-connected analytics gains ground in the mid-market. Tools that draw directly from existing ERP data lower the barrier to better planning. SAP Business One and SAP ECC users are evaluating analytics layers that add depth without replacing the core system.
