NTT DATA Business Solutions is offering 'Zero Cost ACTIVATION,' eliminating SAP Cloud ERP activation fees and aiming for rapid go-lives, addressing key concerns for enterprise IT.
The initiative integrates AI with SAP, Microsoft, and ServiceNow, emphasizing governed, transparent AI delivery and potentially broadening evaluation criteria for multi-platform integration.
This offer provides a compelling reason for enterprises to re-evaluate SAP Cloud ERP investments, especially those previously deterred by initial costs, while necessitating deep scrutiny of AI governance claims.
NTT DATA announced on August 26, 2026, that it will acquire Netgain AB, a Stockholm-based ServiceNow specialist, in a move that, together with The Cloud People, creates Sweden’s largest pure-play ServiceNow company. The deal strengthens NTT DATA’s ServiceNow business across the Nordics and is expected to close within weeks, pending customary regulatory approval. Founded in 2008, Netgain brings roughly 60 specialists, more than 160 ServiceNow certifications, and deep expertise across ITSM, HR, and CSM, serving midsize enterprises, large enterprises, and public sector organizations across Sweden. Following completion, the firm will operate as “Netgain – an NTT DATA company”.
For SAP professionals, the most telling line in the announcement comes from Norbert Rotter, CEO of NTT DATA Business Solutions: “SAP is the foundation of our business at NTT DATA Business Solutions. At the same time, we continue to invest in growth areas that create additional value for our customers.” ServiceNow, he added, has become a key pillar of that strategy.
Why an SAP-First Integrator Keeps Buying ServiceNow Firms
The Netgain deal is the latest step in a deliberate sequence. NTT DATA Business Solutions acquired The Cloud People, now its leading Nordic ServiceNow business with 400+ specialists across nine countries, in December 2025. Both moves build on the expanded strategic partnership between ServiceNow and NTT DATA announced in November 2025, under which ServiceNow designated NTT DATA a strategic AI delivery partner and the two committed to co-developing and co-selling AI-powered automation solutions.
The logic is architectural rather than opportunistic. As SAP organizations consolidate their core on SAP S/4HANA and SAP Cloud ERP, the workflow layer that surrounds that core, spanning IT service management, HR service delivery, and customer service workflows, increasingly runs on ServiceNow. An integrator that can govern both layers positions itself as a systems partner for the whole landscape, not just the ERP core.
The Research Says Demand Is Structural
SAPinsider’s 2026 research explains why this bet is timely. The Technology Leaders’ Strategic Agenda for 2026 benchmark found that 70% of respondents identified increasing operational efficiency and reducing costs as their top priority, with 63% expecting pressure to reduce IT and SAP-related costs this year. AI-enabled workflow automation like what Netgain and The Cloud People deliver is precisely the efficiency lever those leaders are funding.
Meanwhile, SAPinsider’s ERP Migration and Transformation 2026 benchmark found that while 55% of organizations have deployed SAP S/4HANA or SAP S/4HANA Cloud, only 34% report a complete transition. That majority-hybrid reality generates incident and service volume exactly when support teams are stretched thinnest, making ServiceNow-to-SAP integration an operational necessity rather than a nice-to-have for CIOs and ERP program managers mid-migration.
What This Means for SAPinsiders
Evaluate integrators on their ability to govern the full workflow layer, not just the ERP core. NTT DATA’s sequence of ServiceNow acquisitions shows the market rewarding partners that can connect SAP S/4HANA programs to the service workflows surrounding them. CIOs selecting partners for 2027-driven migrations should probe cross-platform delivery credentials, not just SAP certifications.
Treat ServiceNow-to-SAP integration as a migration workstream. With only 34% of organizations reporting a complete SAP S/4HANA transition, hybrid landscapes will dominate for years. ERP program managers should scope ITSM and service integration from day one, because ticket volume peaks precisely at go-live.
Expect further ecosystem consolidation, and plan governance accordingly. Rotter’s framing of ServiceNow as a “key pillar” alongside SAP signals that partner portfolios will keep broadening. Enterprise architects should establish clear accountability models now for multi-platform delivery, so vendor consolidation strengthens rather than blurs ownership of outcomes.
