Key Takeaways What you need to know
  1. ORO Labs has partnered with SAP to sell its platform as SAP Ariba Procurement Orchestration, set to launch in November 2026, enabling organizations to efficiently connect procurement processes across SAP and third-party systems.

  2. This partnership matters as it provides businesses with the flexibility to modernize their procurement strategies at their own pace while leveraging existing investments and ensuring compliance through integrated approval and oversight processes.

  3. The development impacts SAPinsiders using Ariba with other applications, offering them access to enhanced orchestration capabilities backed by SAP

ORO Labs, a procurement orchestration vendor founded by former SAP Ariba product leaders, has signed an agreement with SAP to sell its platform as a solution extension called SAP Ariba Procurement Orchestration by ORO Labs. The company announced the deal on October 5 and said general availability is planned for November 2026.

The extension is designed to connect procurement processes across landscapes that mix SAP and third-party systems, including current-generation and next-generation SAP Ariba environments. ORO Labs said it will also work in coordination with Joule Work, including deployments where Joule Work is the primary user engagement layer.

Building on what customers already run

Sudhir Bhojwani, CEO and co-founder of ORO Labs, said enterprises want value from agentic AI immediately “while building on the technology investments they already trust.” Manoj Swaminathan, President and Chief Product Officer of SAP Autonomous Suite, said procurement transformation “happens across the entire technology landscape” and described the extension as giving customers the flexibility to modernize at their own pace.

According to ORO Labs, employees would start and follow procurement work through one experience, with pre-built connectors and APIs reaching the SAP and third-party applications behind it and SAP Integration Suite supporting integration orchestration. Low-code and no-code workflows are meant to let teams change processes as policies shift. Agentic steps sit inside governed processes that keep approvals and human oversight in place, the company said.

Sold and supported by SAP

ORO Labs is an SAP Solution Extension partner. Under that program, extensions must pass SAP’s qualification process before general availability and are SAP-branded, sold and supported, which gives customers access to the capabilities through their existing SAP relationship. ORO Labs names The Coca-Cola Company, Pfizer, Siemens Energy and Novartis among the brands that use its platform.

The announcement, one day before the SAP Connect 2026 event in Las Vegas, did not include pricing or packaging details, or describe how the Joule Work coordination would work in practice.

What this means for SAPinsiders

  • The extension is aimed at SAPinsiders who run Ariba alongside other procurement applications. Because SAP brands, sells and supports solution extensions, those evaluating orchestration options can take their questions to their existing SAP account team, including the pricing and packaging details that were not announced.
  • Two scope questions stand out. ORO Labs described orchestration across both current-generation and next-generation Ariba environments, so SAPinsiders partway through a migration should ask which are covered at launch. The company also described two Joule Work scenarios, one where the two work in coordination and one where Joule Work is the main user engagement layer, so practitioners should ask which applies to their landscape and where SAP Integration Suite sits relative to the pre-built connectors.
  • Check the overarching governance. ORO Labs and SAP both position approvals and human oversight as part of the offering, which raises the question of who owns those controls for SAPinsiders weighing agentic procurement. General availability is planned for November 2026, so members with procurement roadmap decisions this planning cycle can put these questions to SAP and ORO Labs ahead of launch.
