Capgemini has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Syniti, the enterprise data management software and services provider. The transaction is expected to finalize in the coming months, subject to regulatory approvals and conditions. It’s the third acquisition this year for Capgemini, as the vendor seeks to deepen its technical reach. It follows Lösch and Partner, a German application lifecycle management and systems engineering provider in the automotive industry, in July and D+I, an Australian product design and development consultancy with deep expertise in mechanical engineering and electronics product development, in June. This latest Syniti acquisition looks to further support Capgemini’s global client base in generating extra value from complex data transformations, specifically in the SAP ecosystem. It appears to be good news for joint Capgemini and Syniti users and for organizations implementing SAP S/4HANA. Plus, when considering Capgemini’s competitors like Accenture, Deloitte, IBM TCS and so on, this alliance is incredibly strategic. Headquartered in the US, with global operations, Syniti’s team of over 1,200 specialize in managing complex data quality, data migration and data compliance and governance initiatives. With its data-first strategy, every business problem is a data problem for Syniti, and this has seen the firm earn good standing – amongst SAP and partners for its data assessment strategy in S/4HANA migrations – and also independently across Europe with giants in the pharmaceutical and energy sectors. The Syniti Knowledge Platform, a cloud-based data management solution, is already an SAP-endorsed app, sold as an SAP Solution Extension by Syniti for nearly a decade, under the name of SAP Advanced Data Migration and Management. Designed to remove siloes and provide a collaborative space for teams, it aims to drive successful and repeatable business transformation initiatives. Meanwhile, at SAP events, Syniti has been a familiar presence, especially at the BTP Partner Forum and Innovation Days, where the firm has been known to extol the virtues of good data and educate on the false economy represented by unclean data.
