Mexico Drives SAP Cloud ERP Momentum Across Latin America

SAP Latin America and the Caribbean is seeing accelerated adoption of SAP Cloud ERP and artificial intelligence (AI), with Mexico emerging as a primary growth driver as organizations modernize core business systems.

The company said the trend reflects a broader shift toward cloud-based ERP environments as organizations seek greater operational agility.

Clean Core and Cloud ERP Reshape Regional Industries

SAP pointed to multiple customer deployments that demonstrate how SAP Cloud ERP strategies – anchored in Clean Core principles – are helping organizations standardize processes, improve visibility, and support intelligent automation.

By migrating critical operations to the cloud, Aroulho noted, customers gain scalability while leveraging AI tools that transform data into real-time strategic decisions.

This shared shift toward cloud migration also reflects SAP’s emphasis on maintaining a clean core, signaling a deeper architectural transition underway across the region.

SAP Cloud ERP Private Cloud Migrations Support Complex Operations

Agricultural producers often require integrated systems to manage seasonal production cycles, coordinate distribution, and maintain visibility across farming and industrial operations. Against this backdrop, La Norteñita migrated its SAP S/4HANA on-premise environment to SAP Cloud ERP Private (formerly RISE with SAP) to optimize agricultural processes while enabling automation, advanced analytics, and AI-driven insights.

In another example, transportation provider Grupo México Transportes (GMXT) implemented SAP Cloud ERP Private to modernize core processes. Companies in this sector require insights to coordinate freight networks, optimize routes, and improve asset utilization across geographically dispersed operations, and GMXT is using the platform to manage these complex activities within a secure and scalable environment.

SAP also said, Grupo ICA, a Mexico-based infrastructure developer, is moving to SAP Cloud ERP Private as part of its cloud transformation. Infrastructure developers typically manage long project timelines, complex supplier ecosystems, and significant capital investments that require strong operational oversight. SAP said the shift will help standardize processes, improve operational visibility, and support automation and AI across large-scale infrastructure projects for the company.

Enabling Innovation and Supply Chain Visibility

As operational demands expand – from supply chain coordination to financial planning and workforce management – organizations are turning to SAP Cloud ERP to improve visibility, integrate processes, and support more informed decision-making across the enterprise.

One example highlighted by SAP was Grupo FRISA, a real estate developer operating large-scale property portfolios. Real estate organizations often require tightly coordinated financial planning, project management, and workforce oversight to support complex development programs. SAP said Grupo FRISA selected RISE with SAP to advance its innovation strategy and expand AI adoption while consolidating its technology ecosystem. Migrating to SAP Cloud ERP Private, alongside adopting SAP SuccessFactors, is expected to help integrate end-to-end processes, improve data visibility, and strengthen workforce management.

Also mentioned was dairy company Lyncott. Food and dairy companies typically prioritize traceability, quality control, and supply chain coordination to meet regulatory and consumer expectations. Lyncott is transitioning to the public cloud through GROW with SAP to enhance operational traceability and optimize supply chain management, supporting faster decision-making as the company responds to changing market demands.

The growing number of large-scale deployments suggests that Mexican enterprises are moving beyond early experimentation and into execution phases of digital transformation. Investments in cloud ERP platforms indicate a recognition that operational resilience and data-driven decision-making now depend on modern, integrated systems.

By standardizing ERP environments and reducing customization at the core, organizations position themselves for faster upgrades, improved governance, and easier integration of emerging technologies such as AI. This approach also supports extensibility through cloud platforms rather than modifications that increase technical debt.
