Meet the Experts
Key Takeaways
⇨ Certia successfully completed its move to SAP S/4HANA, going live in April on RISE with SAP providing them with a modern core that is future ready.
⇨ SNP played a crucial role in the project by providing selective data migration capabilities, allowing Cerdia to leave behind unneeded historical data and implement one-time opportunities such as controlling area merges, thereby streamlining their system and improving reporting.
⇨ The success of Certda's SAP S/4HANA project was attributed to a clear and consistently followed timeline, a defined scope, and close collaboration with strong commitment from both the business and IT teams, particularly vital for data migration.
Richard Bühler, Head of Global IT at Cerdia, and Daniela Bühler, Head of IT Applications at Cerdia, sat down with Robert Holland of ERP Today to talk about their move to SAP S/4HANA. Having a long history with SAP, beginning with SAP R/2 and SAP R/3, and following a launch as a standalone company in 2019, Cerdia needed to move their SAP landscape from their SAP ECC 6 system. They have now completed their move to SAP S/4HANA, going live in April on RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.
The move was driven by a need to modernize and prepare for the future. The focus was moving to the new release so they could be ready for the future as well as working efficiently. This involved replacing their existing core systems with SAP S/4HANA, a system that is ready for the future. SNP was a close partner of Cerdia during the move especially when it came to data. The selective data migration capability was crucial, allowing Cerdia to leave behind a significant amount of data they no longer needed.
Since the migration, Cerdia is already seeing benefits, including full support from the RISE with SAP team and the ability to pursue future projects that were not possible with their old SAP ECC system. Success factors for the project included a clear timeline which they were able to keep until the end. This involved close collaboration with the whole team and a strong commitment from the business to the process.
Tune in to hear more from Richard Bühler and Daniela Bühler about Cerdia’s move to SAP S/4HANA, how they completed the project successfully, and the benefits they are experiencing.
