According to the recent SAPinsider Data, Integration & SAP BTP Benchmark Report, 71 percent of users believe that the most important SAP BTP capability is integration with other SAP applications. This is not surprising, considering that 70 percent of respondents report using a combination of SAP and non-SAP integration tools to meet their integration needs, a number that increases to 85 percent for larger organizations.

Users’ personal experience with SAP BTP
Some of the key points that users mention regarding SAP BTP is its offering of real-time data exchange based on data-driven analytics, custom application development and third-party integration between legacy systems and data management.
“SAP business tech platform has been a wonder for making data-driven decisions in the complex environment of the company,” said Rishabh Parmar, Digital Marketing Manager at Digi perform.
“It mainly manages data related to our marketing input and provides integration with SAP HANA cloud which makes it even more useful. The best features that I personally like are its scalability and functionality.”
Other users reported that SAP BTP could be applied to various workflows, including integration for SAP and non-SAP APIs/endpoints, visualizing data flows and security.
In line with this, Andrey Shalaurov, Group Director of Software Engineering at The Bank of London, shared: “We use SAP BTP for multiple purposes. [That includes] all of our integration needs to non-SAP systems, including exposing SAP endpoints and building event-push webhooks by using Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), using MBC component to receive MT950 SWIFT bank statements from The Bank of England and backbone for SAP Fiori tiles.”
Shalaurov added that these functionalities allowed the company to build multiple event-based messages/notifications critical to the business, such as tracking the status of a payment E2E, notification when a bank statement is executed or when an account lock is removed.
