Challenge: Maintenance is key to ensuring reliability and efficiency in machinery operating in over 14 industrial units. Technicians recorded machine operating data on different platforms, paper-printed maintenance orders, and in their enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Initiative: Pif Paf Alimentos launched a mobile application for its maintenance technicians using
SAP Build Apps.
Solution: The enterprise-grade app integrated seamlessly with its existing SAP technology architecture, powered by SAP Business Technology Platform (
SAP BTP), allowed them to build apps in a low-code manner with drag-and-drop user interfaces (UIs) for common app components.
Timeline: Less than three weeks
Benefits: After a month of testing, the technicians reported a 30% reduction in maintenance order handling time within the test group. Significant reduction in paper use (a projected 270,000 sheets of paper saved per year) improved efficiency and accuracy of administrative tasks, and does not require an internet connection.
