Supporting a Transformative FutureSep 29, 2023  —  Digital transformation projects continue to accelerate in response to requirements for sustainability, compliance, and AI. Addressing these challenges requires finding the best mix of environments to support those needs. This should involve a combination of public cloud, private cloud, on-premise, and hybrid infrastructure based on the specific needs of the organization in question. Some organizations favor flexible environments for development and testing because they provide agility and business value as they can be easily spun up and shut down as required. But when it comes to quality assurance and production, it is vital that systems are robust and ensure control of data. Choosing the right landscape is vital to the long-term success of any transformation project. More than two thirds of organizations are planning or performing some sort of transformation. This could be infrastructure based but is just as likely to involve updating business processes or redesigning business models. Choosing the right landscape to ensure the success of these projects is crucial to their overall success It should involve the best mix of infrastructure to support current and future needs. o Ensure that the landscape that is selected for the business transfromation is one that will provide flexibility around infrastructure, implementation, and services. o Most organizations underestimate the space and memory capacity of their transformation projects. Ensuring that any infrastructure chosen has the capacity to expand is key. o While many organizations have transformation projects underway, these may not yet include a move off existing ERP environments. Organizations must ensure that choices made today will support any future ERP projects.

Partnering for a Successful FutureSep 14, 2023  —  Organizations need to prioritize innovation. Improving agility, ensuring resilience, and unlocking data-driven analytics across business operations are not only essentials for success and growth, but also prerequisites. However, most organizations approach their transformation projects traditionally, where either the project scope is narrow or a single target approach is adopted. For example, infrastructure renewals or applying sustainability goals. In fact, what they should be prioritizing is the bigger picture. Although traditional approaches often stem from budgetary constraints or a pressing need to replace legacy infrastructure, the failure to envision the bigger picture often derails successful transformations. Partners play a key role in SAP projects. They manage a range of tasks including business case formulation and strategy development to data cleansing, updating custom code, managing change, project management, knowledge sharing and education, and solution deployment. As more customers look to complete their transformation projects before the end of 2027 deadline, finding the right partner for a project is crucial, especially given the limited availability of partners with experience in deploying SAP S/4HANA and RISE with SAP. o Finding a partner to evaluate strategy across the organization is crucial. Fragmented projects result in delays and cost overruns. o The more informed customers are about their environments before the start of the project, the more likely they are to be successful. This can be as simple as a custom code evaluation, but embracing the entirety of the project and the organizational change it can bring is essential. o Involving business teams in the transformation process is vital to the success of initiatives beyond the deployment phase. Failure to do so may result in failure to see technology adopted post-implementation.

Mannington Mills: Trusted Data Transforms Customer ExperienceSep 14, 2023  —  What happens when a truly vintage brand enters the bold new phase of digital transformation? It may happen more than you think. A lot of ERP upgrade narratives focus on flashy verticals such as industrial and finance, or on brands not much older than readers like yourselves. This means we forget the daily challenges that face any kind of SME - even family businesses that have grown to expand their corporate workforce. The backbone of the SAP customer base is very much made up of companies that provide the essential building blocks behind our homes, transportation, goods and more. But when they reach a pain point in stacking those blocks for customers, it’s arguably high time for an augmentation of their SAP systems and ERP backbone.

ifm Supply Chain for Planning and Execution TransformationMay 16, 2023  —  Extending the core ERP capabilities with additional solution functionality can be approached in two ways, namely "add-on" and "add-in" solutions.
