Evolving Business Intelligence and Analytics – Research Report 2024Jun 28, 2024  —  Organizations are grappling with a flood of data from diverse sources, requiring advanced tools and strategies for efficient management and optimization. To adapt to evolving business environments, companies are redefining their business intelligence (BI) strategies by incorporating AI, data science, self-service applications, and cloud technologies. An SAPinsider survey of 144 business and IT leaders underscored the growing importance of BI in driving data-driven decisions, optimizing operations, and improving customer experiences. Agility in response to global changes was a key driver for 45% of respondents, with a slight increase in focus on ROI for technology investments to 35%. Despite a slight decline in expectations for cross-enterprise BI, there is still strong demand for integrated data management solutions. The survey also highlighted a shift towards proactive, real-time decision-making, with greater emphasis on empowering both C-suite and line-of-business stakeholders to align decisions with strategic goals and enhance agility.

Data, Integration, & SAP BTP Benchmark ReportMay 31, 2024  —  As enterprise landscapes grow increasingly complex, it is crucial for organizations to ensure data movement across these landscapes meets their current and future needs. Despite many core systems still running in local environments, this recent SAPinsider research on Data, Integration and SAP BTP highlights that a significant number of workloads have already moved to the cloud with more than three quarters (78%) of respondents reporting they need to support cloud-to-on-premise integration scenarios. Additionally, designing a platform strategy becomes a critical component of a comprehensive data and integration strategy, as these platforms offer enhanced analytics, development, and artificial intelligence capabilities, including those of data and integration. The survey asked the respondents to about their data landscapes, the integration scenarios they need to support, the number of solutions they are connecting with SAP systems, the types of integration tools they are using to complete these connections, their approaches taken to data across the enterprise their familiarity with SAP BTP, and the SAP BTP services they are using. While one of the biggest challenges organizations faced over the last few years has been about managing the exponential growth in data volumes and complexity, the need to ensure effective data governance and quality (35%) was identified as the most important factor in the current research. Complicating this scenario is the complexity of the overall IT landscape with just 24% of respondents reporting that they are running predominantly SAP solutions. Deployment Approaches to SAP S/4HANA 2024Apr 30, 2024  —  In this report: SAP S/4HANA adoption continues to steadily increase as organizations move away from SAP Business Suite and SAP ECC. While that growth has not accelerated, the proportion of respondent organizations that have no plans for SAP S/4HANA is going down. This year, just 11% of respondents reported having no plans, the smallest number since SAPinsider started tracking this information in 2020. SAP Infrastructure and Landscape Trends 2024Feb 29, 2024  —  Infrastructure is the foundation of any SAP landscape. Although SAP has a goal of becoming a cloud company, many organizations have yet to make the move to cloud-based infrastructure. This is because a significant number of existing systems reside on legacy infrastructure. However, this infrastructure is changing. When SAPinsider first researched infrastructure and landscape trends in 2022, the top two infrastructure choices were a private-cloud environment and multi-tenant hyperscaler or public cloud. The third most likely infrastructure choice was new on-premise infrastructure, selected by more than a quarter of survey respondents. Now, many respondents are considering infrastructure from RISE with SAP as one of the more likely infrastructure choices after private-cloud or hosted environments. The survey asked the respondents to about their SAP workloads, the infrastructure on which those workloads are running, plans for future infrastructure, the importance of sustainability goals in infrastructure planning, and how the organization was planning on achieving those infrastructure goals.
