When an SAP user generates a sales order or pays an invoice in S/4HANA, AvaTax delivers the tax amount for that transaction, based on the street address of the appropriate party, directly into SAP. The street-level field, only available to SAP users using AvaTax, pulls the latitude and longitude location of the customer or seller from Avalara’s address service, resulting in a more accurate rate than the information offered by the native SAP tax functionality.
