Intel to Power SAP Landscapes with Intel Xeon Data Center CPUsSAP landscapes have historically been crucial for business operations, focusing on the "core-to-memory ratio" for SAP HANA, which has significantly improved over time. The increasing demand for data optimization and AI integration is transforming traditional SAP landscapes, driving the need for innovative computing profiles and efficient energy use. Intel’s Data Center CPUs are adapting to this shift, emphasizing compute density and performance per watt to meet evolving data center requirements. Intel plans to release new products with dedicated P-Cores and E-Cores, optimized for various workloads and energy efficiency, to support these needs. The Intel Xeon 6 with E-Cores is poised to enhance SAP HANA Cloud’s performance while reducing energy consumption by up to 60%, offering significant cost savings and sustainability benefits. SAP’s endorsement of these CPUs as part of their Tailored Datacenter Infrastructure (TDI) Program highlights the potential for optimized SAP landscapes. Starting September 2024, Intel, in collaboration with OEMs certified for SAP TDI, will launch Intel Xeon 6 with E-Core-based server platforms, aiming to improve environmental footprints and support IT datacenter renewal for SAP landscapes.
