Nick Giannakakis

Nick Giannakakis is currently Chief Information Officer of Motor Oil Hellas Group. He started his career in SAP in the 90’s, where he had the opportunity to expose himself in quite exciting large scale SAP implementations gaining significant experience in the areas of Order to Cash, CRM and SAP BW. Subsequently as part of Coca Cola Hellenic IT executive team played an instrumental role in the Group’s Business Transformation though the SAP implementation in all 28 EMEA countries. Richemont International, in Geneva, the 12 Billion Luxury Conglomerate was Nick’s next career milestone. Nick had the opportunity to lead Global wide initiatives with Implementation of SAP Retail, CRM and Customer Service processes covering the Worldwide Distributed Boutique Network of all Group’s luxury brands. Nick joined British American Tobacco (BAT) in 2014. BAT’s, "Programme TaO" was an ambitious project from the outset. The plan was to develop a global business operating model underpinned by a single global SAP instance implement a pilot in one country and then move into a rapid five-phase deployment, completing in the first quarter of 2016 TAO was one of the Largest Large scale SAP Transformations led to one of the biggest Single Instance SAP installations in the world: with more than 600 Company codes, in 185 countries, 4 continents and more than 200k Orders per day. The "T" in TaO represents a new target operating model for BAT, driving 16 significant business changes (for example, a global supply chain network and global process standardization). The "O" represents the move to One SAP — a single global SAP solution for BAT. Nick established the BAT’s Global SAP Center of Excellence which has been awarded as Gold Award Winner at the 2016 SAP Global Customer Centre of Expertise Awards. In addition, BAT SAP BPC implementation has been awarded as one of the most Innovative solutions in UK’s 2017 awards. Nick was part of SAP CPG and Success Factors Product Council. In 2019 Nick was awarded as one of UK’s TOP 100 CIO’s shortlisted also for the IDG Europe’s CIO competition.
