Maximizing our SAP Investment – A Customer-Focused Approach to Developing an SAP Roadmap

Meet the Experts

Key Takeaways

⇨ A technology roadmap can’t be completed by only engaging IT teams, it requires an investment form the whole business

⇨ Future proof your SAP ecosystem and be future ready

⇨ Using a roadmap to visualize and align the application lifecycle, when to decommission and plan for the new

Managing Hydro Tasmania’s SAP ecosystem via a 12-month capital planning process, meant there was a focus on technology as opposed to customer value. With an aim to maximize Hydro’s continuing SAP investment a 3 – 5 year rolling roadmap has been developed to identify the key technology and enablement activities required to inform future projects, initiatives and portfolio planning activities.

Developed in consultation with our business via 30 workshops, including 40+ employees from across the business Hydro Tasmania ensured Customer value was front of mind, at the same time setting principles to reduce legacy tech debt, protect the core and simplify the landscape.

Hydro Tasmania has achieved:

  • Alignment of SAP maintenance, initiatives, and planning activities with SAP’s Roadmap
  • Visualized the delivery of customer centric value in alignment to technology solutions
  • Identify and plan transition from end-of-life technologies to new/immerging opportunities (inc. BTP)
