Simplefi Solutions Packages SAP Analytics Cloud Content for BPC-Bound Finance Teams

Many SAP finance organizations still close, consolidate, and forecast in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) while SAP directs new planning investment to SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and, since early 2025, to SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC).

Simplefi Solutions, an SAP Gold Partner focused on the office of the CFO, is building its practice around the years between BPC’s operational peak and full customer adoption of SAC and BDC. The firm keeps BPC running while migrating finance workloads onto SAC at a pace finance teams can absorb.

BPC That Still Has To Work

Simplefi supports all five BPC variants — Embedded, Standard, Microsoft, NetWeaver, and HANA — which matters because most SAP finance shops chose their variant years ago and cannot rebuild consolidations on a partner’s timeline. The firm cites SAP lab benchmarks showing BPC 11 on HANA delivering 20x query performance, 10x report refresh, 10x large-data input, 2x allocation, and 10x driver-based planning over BPC on Microsoft. Those figures are SAP-lab results reproduced by Simplefi rather than field averages, but they frame why the firm treats BPC-on-HANA as a workable platform for the next several planning cycles rather than a system to sunset immediately.

SAC Planning, Pre-Packaged

Simplefi’s SAC finance offering targets three workloads: Sales and Pipeline, Expenses, and Profitability planning. The firm layers those on top of PlaniFi, its pre-packaged SAC content set spanning financial planning and analysis, financial consolidations, treasury liquidity, capital expenditure, and workforce planning. Simplefi states the FP&A base package can deploy in days rather than the weeks or months typical of a scratch SAC build, and cites investment payback in the 10 to 18 month range. Both remain vendor claims. The mechanism they describe is a configured content library a finance systems team can extend, not a bespoke consulting build.

Where the Data Is Heading

Simplefi’s marketing places SAP Business Data Cloud and SAP Datasphere alongside SAC as the reporting foundation for the CFO office. That aligns with SAP’s stated direction: BDC, launched in partnership with Databricks, unifies SAP and non-SAP data with pre-built insight apps for planning. A BPC customer needs a partner that can carry both the legacy consolidation model and the future data model at once.

Finance systems owners weighing an SAC path should ask a prospective partner three questions — which BPC variants they still staff, what SAC content they can hand over on day one, and how they plan to land data in BDC or Datasphere without rebuilding it later. Simplefi’s answer is a coexistence practice built to handle all three from a single engagement.

What This Means for SAPinsiders

• Migration speed becomes a governance decision. Pre-packaged SAC content reduces build time, but it also forces finance leaders to decide which planning practices should be standardized. Without that discipline, faster deployment can reproduce old BPC complexity in a new platform.
• Legacy expertise becomes a strategic transition asset. Deep BPC support gives finance teams room to sequence migration around close cycles, regulatory demands, and available skills. The greater value lies in transferring institutional knowledge before specialized BPC expertise becomes harder to retain.
• Data design will determine migration durability. Quick SAC deployment creates lasting value only when models, definitions, and ownership align with the future BDC or Datasphere architecture. Otherwise, finance may gain speed now while creating another expensive reconciliation project later.
