Cybersecurity company Rubrik, Inc. announced its new solution Rubrik Turbo Threat Hunting. This feature aims to help users detect threats through advanced scanning and quarantining techniques, as well as accelerating their recovery from cyber attacks by finding clean recovery points. The solution is currently available in beta for all rubrik Enterprise Edition and cloud customers and is expected to be released widely by the end of January 2025.
“This is the fastest way to recover from a cyberattack. With Turbo Threat Hunting, we’re not just reducing recovery times — we’re redefining what’s possible in cyber resilience. No other platform on the market can match our speed and scale, giving enterprises the confidence to quickly resume operations and protect their bottom line,” said Rubrik Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta in a press release.
Differentiators
While most solutions focus on preventing cyberattacks, few options also provide solutions for companies aiming to recover from an issue. Often, finding a recovery point can take days, if not weeks, as companies seek to continue their operations in the wake of an attack.

Rubrik’s Turbo Threat Hunting can scan up to 75,000 backups in less than a minute, helping companies minimize downtime after a cyberattack so they can continue operations and minimize disruption. It relies on re-computed hash values within Rubrik’s metadata to find malicious files, then quarantines them before identifying clean backups. Rubrik notes that the solution is designed to minimize impact while it performs full production sweeps.
What This Means for SAPinsiders
Threat detection is one of the biggest challenges that SAP organizations face on a daily basis. Cyberattacks can cause significant damage to a company. These events can inflict not only millions of dollars in damages, but incalculable reputational damage due to interruption in services or data breaches of sensitive information.
SAPinsider’s recent Cybersecurity Threats and Challenges for SAP Systems 2024 benchmark research report found that 35% of respondents said threat detection was a challenge for them, making it one of the biggest obstacles in their overall cybersecurity posture. Yet the majority of SAP organizations also said they are not currently using a solution to analyze and detect incoming threats.
Additionally, only 34% of companies reported that disaster recovery was a priority for securing their SAP environment. While attempting to prevent attacks is important, companies that do not have a plan to recover from them risk disaster in the event of a breach. Prolonged downtimes only compound the negative outcomes that can come from an attack.
Rubrik Turbo Threat Hunting aims to minimize recovery times in the event of a breach, while also proactively securing SAP environments through document scanning. This is why many companies are turning to security partners like Rubrik – minimizing the risk of being attacked as well as mitigating the fallout from any potential breaches creates a holistic SAP security posture that helps companies operate safely and securely.
