ARDEX New Zealand needed to remove the paper requirement from distribution operations to drive efficiency in their warehouses and throughout the supply chain.
The company deployed Cloud Inventory with pre-built, certified integrations to SAP. Cloud Inventory provided a software solution that interacted with SAP in real-time, meaning that the warehouse individual, through use of a scanning gun, could transact their activities from any location within the facility.
By replacing paper-based processes with scans from handheld devices directly into SAP, workers no longer had to walk to a terminal to transact goods.
The solution also streamlines tasks by putting information in the hands of workers, for example, the handheld device directs employees to the exact picking location required for each pick movement.
ARDEX New Zealand leveraged Inventory Management Solution and certified, validated integrations to SAP’s standard BAPIs, to ensure a quick and simple deployment and a seamless implementation.
Chris Sage, customer service coordinator, ARDEX, said: “The implementation went smoothly. The Inventory engineer that was on site for the commissioning and training of our team was excellent and went above and beyond to ensure that our system was operational.
“The servicing of our customers has been faster, helping us achieve an improvement in our delivery performance to our customers. The Cloud Inventory solution has supported us achieving an improved DIFOT [delivery in full on time] rate to our end customers.”
ARDEX New Zealand is now equipped to effectively manage its warehouses. By reducing the amount of time used on searching for products, manually capturing information and having to find the nearest terminal to transact goods, the company has made a significant improvement to its warehouse efficiency.
